Thanks For All The Fish!

This site covers how to start a blog, build traffic and make money blogging. If you’re new here, you may want to subscribe to my RSS feed. Thanks for visiting! Recently, I’ve noticed that I don’t enjoy blogging on this site as much as I enjoy my other four.
There are plenty of reasons, […]

Another Day, Another Upgrade

Just days after I begrudgingly upgraded to WP 2.5 which I hate, it’s time to upgrade to WP 2.5.1.
This, on a platform they’re boasting was constructed over a 6-month period by the “WordPress community”?
Some days I think there’s more “monkey” in code monkey than decent code.
UPDATE: WPCandy has a list of 30+ things that should […]

WP 2.5, How I Hate Thee

Over the weekend, I upgraded my blogs to WordPress 2.5 and, while it only took five minutes a piece, I wish I could have that time back. Or, more accurately, I wish I’d never spent it on upgrading.
I hate WP 2.5. I hate absolutely everything about it, from the watery looking color scheme of the […]

Thank You!

I’ve been meaning to extend a hearty “Thank You!” to Amanda at Brandon’s Puppy for her kind donation earlier this month.
It’s always gratifying to know that some of my advice has been helpful, and cold hard cash always makes me smile!

Coming Up Next Week

Here are a few of the entry topics I’ll be covering over the next 7 days for those of you who like to plan ahead:
• Writing paid entries with value;
• The latest WordPress plug-ins I’ve fallen in love with;
• Outbound links and your link value;*
• The one surprising lesson I learned last week about […]

Rassin’ Frassin’ Brain Fart

I decided to take advantage of the long 3-day weekend to clean my office. It was long overdue. My collection of books on marketing, copywriting, advertising and computers had grown from one stack to four, all of which were gathering dust because I’ve been too busy with online projects to actually crack open an old-fashioned […]

Urgent WordPress Update

An urgent WordPress update was released today to address a serious security threat along with some minor bugs. If you haven’t already done so, be sure to download WordPress 2.3.3 and install it promptly.
As always, it’s a good idea to perform a complete backup first.

Back Soon. I Promise.

If you haven’t been keeping up with my other sites then you may not be aware that the “flu” I had turned out to actually be pneumonia. A booger of a case of it, too.
Thanks to the miracles of modern antibiotics, I’m feeling much better today than I have in days. I’m still restricted to […]

I’m Infected

Not my computer: me. With the flu, to be precise, which is why I’ve been away from the computer for three days now. Fortunately, I seem to be getting back into the swing of things even if my head feels foggy and my body feels like someone repeatedly ran over it with a Mack truck.
Blogging […]

Sometimes It’s Rude To Expect Honesty

Since launching this site I’ve been asked by several dozen people to visit their site and give my honest feedback about how it looks, what areas need improvement and how they can attract more readers (and, as a result, higher-paying writing opportunities). That’s flattering. It really is.
After all, I obviously launched this site with the […]

Let’s Get Started
