Use A Calendar To Schedule Regular Features

Having a planned schedule for blog entries has always made me cringe.
Don’t I already have enough “to do” lists, the written kind along with that mental one which wakes me up at least once a night? Why would I want to turn blogging — which I do first and foremost for fun — into yet another chore?
Around the time I launched my fifth blog (this one), I found myself struggling to juggle email, feed reading and social networking with the pressure to come up with fresh content. That, too, led to sleep disruptions as I’d wake from a dream about blogging. Yes, that’s right: I started having blog dreams, and not the good kind.
Fortunately, I’ve since learned that everything I’d thought about using an blog editorial calendar was wrong. Since I began using one I’ve seldom wondered what should I blog about: I usually know in advance, having spent Saturday planning the next week’s entries.
It’s also helped me remain more consistent with regular features, something I try to do at four of my blogs. And so, this Morning’s Must Read (which, as you may have guessed, is also a regular feature) is why you should consider creating a signature series to bring regular, reliable traffic and to make content-generation surprisingly less like a chore.

I read that this morning and found it to be a very good idea. I have people asking me when my next post will be for my affiliate marketing series so I guess it keeps some coming back! I also found a very useful plugin to help you organize your series.
Scheduling: This is where the task manager I’m giving away would come in handy:)

an average Joe Blogger will find difficulty in managing time, but for full time bloggers, I think they can focus more.

Then again, with full-time blogging comes more email to reply to, more comments to answer, and more management tasks.
