Why do your readers visit your blog? Is it for your content? Or have search engine queries led most there by accident, their visits never lasting more than a few seconds?
There are advantages to knowing why readers read your blog as Wayne Liew explains in this morning’s must read.

First, let me say I have just read this entire blog (granted, it’s new, but still…) from first post to today’s post. Excellent.
Second, may I make a suggestion? I totally agree with what you’ve written about being selective about which blogs you link to. I would like to add that it would also help to make sure that there is not a night and day difference between your style of writing and that of the blog you’re linking to. While the article you linked to in today’s post is informative (I’m sure it must be, or you wouldn’t have linked to it)I could not read it because there was SUCH a difference in writing style between the two blogs. It was like hitting the guardrail on the way across the bridge! Skkrrrrr! Bang! Huh? What just happened? I found myself backtracking and rereading until I finally decided it was too much work.
Just my two cents.
I’d never really considered that aspect, Suzanne, but I do think you make a good point. I’ll definitely try to keep that in mind when linking within entries in the future.
